Volunteering with Bringing Women Together (BWT) gives you a unique opportunity to work and learn from other industry leading women, provides you a chance to get to know other local sponsor organizations, and provides you a sandbox and support to test out your next great idea to help women develop, network, and grow into leadership positions.

Event

Co-Lead

The team: Membership Management

Location: Vancouver, BC

Responsibilities include:

  • Encourage leadership among team members; in the event of your term ending, identify a potential successor and facilitate their transition
  • Support BWT organization with the volunteers needs (monthly reporting on volunteers needs, determine gaps, onboard volunteers, offboard volunteers, communicate vacancies, volunteers engagement)
  • Create consistent processes and templates within their area BWT members database management
  • Onboard new volunteers
  • Off board volunteers
  • Support the other streams in getting the volunteers needed
  • Work with the Knowledge management team to optimize the SAP Jam for volunteers use
  • Work with the Marketing team to setup an engagement strategy for volunteers

Event

PMO Coordinator

The team: Project Management Office

Location: Vancouver, BC

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide assistance and guidance to the Governance Team to implement strategies and plans
  • Develop BWT metrics, registers, and build scorecards
  • Develop PMO annual strategy and plan
  • Attend PMO weekly team meeting
  • Promote and guide the collection of event metrics data with event teams
  • Build templates (e.g., event toolkits, etc.)
  • Design and document processes (for IYE, Finance)
  • Schedule all internal meetings and events
  • Facilitate all internal meetings (annual kick-off, annual strategy & planning, monthly status meeting, governance breakfast meetings)
  • Develop meeting presentations
  • Collect and collate presentation contents from committee leads for internal meetings
  • Meeting notes of actions and decisions

Event

Brand Specialist

The team: Marketing and Communications

Location: Vancouver, BC

Responsibilities include:

  • Design clear engaging graphic communications for print and web. This will include logos, direct mail pieces, branded promotional items, web site and social media graphics, posters, flyers, and other marketing materials as needed.
  • Build creative design and visual identity standards for our online presence
  • Maintain and manage creative files and database of creative for future reference and sharing. Document design standards.
  • Work closely with a project team and volunteers to translate their messaging concepts into marketing materials.

What you might learn:

  • The ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast paced
  • Strong organizational, problem solving and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to define and work towards deadlines

What you bring to the table: 

  • Be proficient in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, & Photoshop and/or other common design and layout applications. Basic HTML skills are an asset.
  • Some formal training in brand identity design, interactive design and other creative disciplines
  • Must have a passion for design and be creative
  • Having a computer and access to graphic design and layout software is an asset
  • Must be extremely organized and detail oriented and have excellent time management skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as in partnership with team

Task Manager (Workshop with WCT)

Event

Event Manager (Marquee Event)

The team: In Year Events

Location: Vancouver, BC

Responsibilities include:

  • Creating a plan and vision for the event, including event theme. Working with the member companies to align event agenda and theme with BWT’s values
  • Securing Panelist Speakers and MC for the event, coordinating speaker schedules and creating a speaker package.
  • Meeting interim goals and making regular checkpoints with the BWT Governance, Event Leads and other volunteers to ensure alignment across the board
  • Overseeing logistics and delegating tasks to other volunteers
  • Outlining budget, meeting with new interested volunteers, coordinating with Marketing

  • From now until December: 2-3 hours a week
  • January until event (March): 3-4 hours a week
  • Week of event: 3-4 hours + event day
