Volunteer Opportunities

Develop, Learn, and Grow Through Your Next Great Leadership Experience.

Volunteering with Bringing Women Together (BWT) gives you a unique opportunity to work and learn from other industry leading women, provides you a chance to get to know other local sponsor organizations, and provides you a sandbox and support to test out your next great idea to help women develop, network, and grow into leadership positions.

Event

Communication Specialist

The team: Marketing and Communications Team

Location: Vancouver, BC

More details

Responsibilities include

  • Draft, edit and proofread marketing/communications materials including (but not limited to) event invitations, reminders, newsletters, and other mail-outs
  • Produce a monthly BWT newsletter using MailChimp by collecting and creating stories
  • Maintain BWT’s presence on all social media channels (mainly Twitter and Instagram) by scheduling and creating content across all accounts
  • Update our website and create blogs on an as-needed basis
  • Ensure that all promotional materials (and anything external-facing) are aligned with BWT’s brand identity

What you might learn: 

  • Social media management and content creation
  • Further enhance and excel your copywriting skills
  • How to use MailChimp, EventBrite, Hootsuite, WordPress and more

What you bring to the table:

  • You have 6+ months of relevant work experience in communications, marketing or other related fields
  • You are an organization wizard! You have no problem managing multiple projects with various deadlines
  • Bonus: experience in photography

Estimated Time Commitment (per month):

  • 4 hours/ month

Event

Event Manager (September Drop-in Social)

The team: In Year Events

Location: Vancouver, BC

Responsibilities include:

  • You’re the boss! Plan a great event from start to finish and oversee schedules
  • Build logistical plans including speakers, venue booking, catering
  • Delegate tasks to team members

What you might learn:

  • Leadership and organizational skills
  • Management
  • Networking, meeting new people from all different backgrounds

What you bring to the table: 

  • Commitment and interest in the event topic
  • Enthusiasm
  • Communication skills and teamwork

Estimated Time Commitment (per week)

  • 3 hours / week  leading up to event

Event Manager (Co-sponsored Workshop with WCT)

Task Manager (Sponsor Summit)

  • Assist the Event Manager in completing tasks
  • Execute logistic plans and carry out schedule (picking out supplies, contacting external teams etc.)
