Volunteering with Bringing Women Together (BWT) gives you a unique opportunity to work and learn from other industry leading women, provides you a chance to get to know other local sponsor organizations, and provides you a sandbox and support to test out your next great idea to help women develop, network, and grow into leadership positions.

The team: Membership Company Strategy

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop bios of prospective sponsors and member companies
  • Support strategy of Member Company Strategy team

What you might learn:

  • Develop communication skills that highlight the salient features of organisations
  • Meet with member company orgs and see what they are doing in addressing the development needs of their staff

What you bring to the table: 

  • Intermediate analytical skills to review potential member companies
  • Writing skills to create summaries of the member companies

Event

Membership Process Analyst

The team: Membership Management

Location: Vancouver, BC

Responsibilities include:

  • Monitor BWT mailbox and reply to messages
  • Assist as backup on new volunteer job postings or new member database updates
  • Assist with special projects related to membership management
  • Attend bi-weekly committee meetings

Member Communication Specialist

The team: Membership Management

Responsibilities include:

  • Send all formal communications to BWT Members
  • Send email communications to Onboard new volunteers – (including a cc to the Database Analyst, Team Primes, and Governance Primes for Volunteer’s company)
  • Off board volunteers
  • Maintain email templates
  • Maintain email account for Membership (future)

  • Excellent communications skills
  • Ability to manage the asks in a timely manner

Event

Co-Lead

The team: Membership Management

Location: Vancouver, BC

Responsibilities include:

  • Encourage leadership among team members; in the event of your term ending, identify a potential successor and facilitate their transition
  • Support BWT organization with the volunteers needs (monthly reporting on volunteers needs, determine gaps, onboard volunteers, offboard volunteers, communicate vacancies, volunteers engagement)
  • Create consistent processes and templates within their area BWT members database management
  • Onboard new volunteers
  • Off board volunteers
  • Support the other streams in getting the volunteers needed
  • Work with the Knowledge management team to optimize the SAP Jam for volunteers use
  • Work with the Marketing team to setup an engagement strategy for volunteers

Day-of Event Volunteers

The team: In Year Events

Location: Vancouver, BC

Responsibilities include:

  • We have three virtual events happening over the summer and would love to have some volunteers to help facilitate.
  • You will assist with logistics and get to communicate with attendees from our six member companies!

What you might learn:

  • Organizational skills and management
  • Networking, meeting new people from all different backgrounds and workstreams

  • Commitment and interest in the event topic
  • Enthusiasm and creativity; dedication to make a great event that shows BWT at its best
