BWT Mentorship Winter 2018 – 2019 Cohort Summary
We completed our first BWT Mentoring Program. Winter Cohort 2018 – 2019! Mentorship program was 6 months long with the objective to amplify BWT vision and bring women across different organizations together. This objective closely aligns with BWT vision for cross-organizational networking for personal and professional development and support.
Our first cohort was 30 participants strong and we had 19 mentor/mentee pairs from BC Hydro, SAP, Sodexo, Telus, and Vancity. Most impressive is that each mentor/mentee pair was from a different organization. Participants met in persons or virtually at least once a month to discuss various topics, creating a partnership and learning from each other.
100% of survey participants said that they will very likely recommend BWT Mentoring program to others.
Here are a couple of mentorship members testimonials. Those testimonials speak about member experiences the best:
- A most memorable experience was connecting with an inspiring individual. Chatting through work challenges with someone in a similar work environment, but not in the same work environment.
- I love that this connects people across organizations. I felt that having a broader lens on things helped both of us to clarify challenges
- Sharing freely and openly and developing a relationship with a new friend! Meeting in person was great.
Members found that most impactful value of the BWT Mentorship program was the ability to connect with members from the other organizations. Members were able to learn and to explore how other organizations approach challenges. Additional benefit several members mentioned was that there were lots of learnings on both sides – on mentor and mentee side with fantastic discussions around navigating business challenges in different corporate cultures.
I will close with the following testimonial: ” Very worthwhile program. Will participate again.”.
Mentorship Cohort 2019 – 2020 will start with applications opening in August 2019. Stay open and curious! I hope you will join this exciting program.
